Florida's Back-to-School Tax-Free Holiday Starts Today

On your mark, get ready, shop! Today marks the start of the Back-to-School sales tax holiday ending at midnight Sunday. Due to the pandemic-there are some new items included in the tax-free list this year. Scott Shalley, President of the Florida Retail Federation, says thanks to distance learning, about 63-percent of families are expected to buy computers and other electronics this year, up from 54-percent last year. In total, families are expected to spend 789-dollars on supplies compared to 696-dollars last year. There are now 3 ways you can buy tax-free items--in store, online or curbside.
