The Orange County Animal Shelter asking for help after nearly 100 pets were brought in within a single day.

Orange County Animal Services says the shelter is overwhelmed, caring for over 600 animals, most housed at the main facility and some in foster homes

The county is actively recruiting volunteers to assist with caring for the animals and looking for those willing to foster or adopt.

Adoption fees have been reduced to $10 for both cats and dogs.

A large adoption event is scheduled to take place in Plant City from Friday through Sunday. Over 300 dog from municipal shelters in Hernando, Hillsboro, Manatee, Marion, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sumter counties will be available. All dogs have been spayed or neu
