UPDATE:
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett re-entered Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys after being evaluated for an injury.
--
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett was injured during Sunday's (December 29) game against the NFC East Division rival Dallas Cowboys, which he started in the absence of franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Pickett, 26, exited the game in the third quarter and was taken to the locker room to be evaluated. The former University of Pittsburgh standout threw for 143 yards and one touchdown on 10 of 15 passing, while also scoring on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Rookie Tanner McKee, who had never previously taken an NFL snap, took over in his absence. Pickett's injury came one week after he took over for Hurts, who suffered a concussion, during the Eagles' Week 16 loss to the NFC East Division rival Washington Commanders.
Hurts took a shot to the head while attempting to dive and was taken to the blue medical tent before receiving further evaluation for a potential concussion in the Eagles' locker room. The two-time Pro Bowler threw for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions on 248 of 361 passing, as well as 630 yards and 14 touchdowns on 150 rushing attempts, while leading the Eagles to a 12-3 record in 15 starts.
The Eagles would clinch the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture with a win on Sundya.
