COVID Era Is Affecting NCAAB Powerhouses Differently Than Other Sports

Clay Travis has an interesting theory for you this morning. Across all major American sports in this COVID Era, the favorite or traditionally dominant team has won the title in their sport across the board. The Tampa Bay Lightning were the favorites and won the Stanley Cup. The LA Dodgers were the favorite and best team, and they won the World Series.

In the NBA, the Lakers, have the best player and leader in LeBron James, they were one of the heavy favorites in the bubble and won the title. Nick Saban and Alabama dominated in never-before-seen fashion all season on their way to winning the College Football Playoff. Now, in the NFL, the greatest quarterback of all time beat the best youngquarterback in football, as the Bucs lifted the Lombardi Trophy.

Clay believes this is a theme more than a coincidence. The best teams with the best leaders have won championships during COVID. So, what's up with college basketball? Why are Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas, and Michigan State all having such awful years? What is it that Clay says is different when it comes to college basketball, causing the favorites to stumble?
