Oklahoma Sooners QB John Mateer is facing allegations of sports gambling after it was revealed he tagged some of his Venmo transactions with “sports gambling.” He claims it was just a joke and frankly, Doug is inclined to agree considering the source of the accusation was social media as opposed to legitimate journalism, and D1 NCAA QB’s are generally smarter than that.
Doug Gottlieb: “Do I think there are college kids dumb enough to put ‘sports betting’ on their Venmo account when they’re betting on Sports? Yes. Do I think they’re quarterbacks in college football? No, I don’t. I don’t.”
