Colin Cowherd: 'I Wouldn't Be Shocked if Cowboys Move Up to Get Kyle Pitts'

Colin Cowherd: “We’re all dealing with fears. The fear of rejection, the fear of failure, FOMO – fear of missing out. Jerry Jones is different; he has the fear of being boring and irrelevant. He fears ‘boring’ more than being 7-9 or 8-8. There was a story out today that Jerry Jones has ‘fallen in love’ with an amazing tight end, Kyle Pitts, from Florida… Let’s say the Cowboys do move up and get Kyle Pitts. I actually get it from Jerry Jones’ perspective. First of all, Dak’s numbers and productivity are going to go up... It would to some degree validate Dak’s contract. If Dallas doesn’t win the Super Bowl because they don’t draft defense, well, we’re not going to blame Jerry, that’s not what we do in America. We will blame Dak and Mike McCarthy. From Jerry’s perspective, you draft Kyle Pitts and validate Dak Prescott’s contract, you score more points, you get talked about, more highlights, more merchandise, and more free press… Last year Dallas fell in love with drafting Ceedee Lamb. It was the only thing they DIDN’T need in the Draft was a wide receiver… From Jerry’s perspective I would totally get it. It would be doubling-down on what the Cowboys already are. Flashy, fun, and interesting. It wouldn’t solve their personnel issues but Jerry fears being irrelevant. What Dallas SHOULD do is move down in the draft. There’s plenty of great corners mid-to-late first round, second round, and third round. There are edge rushers all over this draft. But Jerry does not like to move back, he likes to be talked about. I would not be shocked if Dallas moved up to get Kyle Pitts.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if the Cowboys moved up in the draft to take superstar Florida tight end Kyle Pitts early in the top 10, as although it obviously wouldn’t be the ‘right’ move, it would cement Jerry Jones’ ultimate goal of scoring points and getting talked about.

Check out the video above as Colin details why it would simply mirror the team taking former Oklahoma star Ceedee Lamb in the first round last year, despite the team having no real need for a wide receiver in the 2020 Draft.
